Studio vs. Outdoor Maternity Sessions: Which One is Right for You?

Studio vs. Outdoor Maternity Sessions: Which One is Right for You?

Summer is here in Amarillo, and we’ve actually been getting rain (I know, wild!). With everything blooming and turning green, it’s the perfect time to talk about your maternity session and help you choose: studio or outdoor?

Both have their own vibe, and honestly? You really can’t go wrong. It all depends on what feels right for you.

Outdoor Maternity Sessions

If you’re feeling up for a little movement and love being surrounded by nature, this one’s for you.

We can head out to Palo Duro Canyon for those epic, scenic views… The Amarillo Botanical Gardens for the lush greenery… a local Amarillo park for something simple and sweet… or even your own neighborhood or private property if you want to keep it close to home.

Outdoor sessions are great for the active mamas. The ones who don’t mind walking a bit, chasing golden light, and maybe even getting their dress a little dusty in exchange for a dreamy backdrop.

The best part? Candid photos.

Studio Maternity Sessions

Prefer a more relaxed, quiet setting? Studio sessions are at a slower pace. (No hiking boots needed.)

Located near downtown Amarillo, my studio was created with comfort in mind. We’ve got a lounge area, snacks, water, and soft natural light to keep things calm and cozy. It’s a great option if you’re further along in pregnancy, wanting to stay out of the heat, or just need some space to breathe.

Studio sessions also give you full access to my client closet, which means you don’t have to worry about what to wear. Just show up, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Not Sure Which to Choose?

Here’s the thing: both options are beautiful. It really just comes down to how you want your session to feel.

Do you want something adventurous and bold? Or a controlled environment and relaxed?

Either way, we’ll create photos you’ll love forever.

If you’re expecting in the Amarillo or Canyon area and trying to decide which session is right for you, reach out and let’s chat. I’d love to help guide you toward the perfect fit!
