WHAT KIND OF PHOTOGRAPHER ARE YOU?

I am a passionate lifestyle family photographer who loves to create a relaxed and enjoyable environment for everyone, including kids. I am extremely chill and laid-back, and I strive to capture raw, genuine emotions. If you're looking for stiff-posed images, I'm not the photographer for you. I will direct and guide you and your family for a seamless session full of laughs and playful moments. Don't let that scare you and think, 'my kids are horrible with directions.' I have a knack for engaging children, whether they're shy or energetic, to ensure they feel comfortable and have fun. As I mentioned earlier, I want to capture raw emotions, so don't worry, it'll all work out in the end.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A PHOTOGRAPHER?

I started my Professional Career as a Photographer in 2016, shortly after graduating from Amarillo College with my Certificate in Photography.

ARE YOU GOING TO WEAR A MASK DURING OUR SESSION?

During outdoor sessions, I do not wear a mask unless the family requests it. Before a session, I always wash and sanitize my hands. For indoor sessions, I will not wear a mask unless the family requests it.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE SESSION?

WHERE WILL MY SESSION BE HELD?

I offer studio, in-home sessions, and outdoor sessions. Studio sessions are held at my studio near downtown Amarillo. In the home, sessions are held at your own home. I typically photograph families at a field-like location (a park) or in an urban setting (downtown). Once you're booked, you'll receive an email, and we will discuss the best location for you and your family.

DO YOU OFFER STUDIO SESSIONS?

Yes, I do offer studio sessions. My studio is available for all types of sessions. My favorite thing to photograph is Maternity in the Studio.

Where is your studio located?

The studio is near downtown Amarillo, Texas. The address is 1004 SW 7th AVE.

What are your Business hours?

Sessions are by appointment only. My office hours are Tuesday - Thursday from 9 AM to 2 PM and Saturday. 10 AM - 4:30 PM. Office hours are the prime time when I will answer emails.

What is a mini-session?

Mini’s are quick sessions that are typically 15 minutes or less. With multiple families being photographed on the same day at a designated location and time. The gallery is smaller, featuring 3-5 photos from your session.

How often do you offer minis?

I offer mini-sessions once or twice a year, typically for holidays such as Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Christmas.  

Can I book a mini-session anytime throughout the year?

No, I set the time and location for the mini-session. I dedicate one day to minis and have time slots that work best for you and your family. I do offer Pettie Sessions throughout the year.

What is the Difference between Pettite Sessions and a Mini Session?

Pettite sessions are similar to full sessions, just a bit shorter. They offer a quick 20-30 minute portrait session, perfect for people on the go, and include about 7 carefully edited digital images with a private online gallery for viewing and downloading. Mini sessions are shorter, usually around 15 minutes, and take place at a designated location and time. The gallery for mini sessions features 3-5 photos. Full sessions have the most excellent flexibility in duration, location, and number of images, often yielding a more extensive gallery than the other types.

HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE IMAGES FOR MY GALLERY?

Choosing images for your gallery will be a team effort, with you having the final say. For the final gallery, we will sit together, and I will help guide you and guarantee you love every image in your gallery. Beforehand, I will quickly go through your gallery to ensure there are no duplicates, so we can save time during the viewing.

WHEN, WHERE, AND HOW CAN I BUY PRINTED IMAGES?

You can purchase prints through Vanessa Underwood Photography. We will schedule a viewing at the Studio, where I will help you every step of the way to choose the perfect print for YOU! I entrust my work to a top-tier professional printing lab renowned for preserving prints for up to 100 years, making them perfect for home display.

DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE PRINTED IMAGES FROM YOU?

It is highly encouraged to purchase prints from me. I work with the best printing labs to ensure the quality of your print.

WHAT IS YOUR TURN AROUND TIME?

The turnaround time for digital images is about 2-4 weeks. For physical prints, the turnaround time is about 1-2 weeks after ordering.

HOW MUCH DOES ALL THIS COST?

Since my sessions are personalized for each individual, we do not have a fixed price. On average, clients spend $250-$ 1,500. The final cost depends on several factors, including the type of session you choose, the number and size of prints you desire, and any travel fees if your session is outside the Amarillo/Canyon area. This way, you can tailor your experience with me to fit your preferences and budget.

DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA TO TRAVEL TO A HOME IN THE CANYON, TEXAS AREA?

No, I don’t charge extra to travel to Canyon, TX. I consider Amarillo and Canyon as the same area.

DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA TO TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF THE AMARILLO/CANYON AREA?

Yes, I set a base travel fee of $125 to travel to your home in the Texas Panhandle/ High Plains area.
