Vanessa Underwood Photography and Cody's Auto Spa, Detailing share space. Feel free to park next to Cody's Auto Spa Sign. You might already know Cody is my partner and husband if you read about me.

No worries, we have our workspace entirely separated. So once you're in the studio, you won't even notice that there is a detail shop a few steps away.

To ensure that you can easily find us, here are some important instructions:

Parking: When you arrive at the studio, you will notice the Cody's Auto Spa sign pictured above. You are in the right place! Please park your vehicle near this sign. Or feel free to pull up on the asphalt near the studio.

Studio Entrance: Our studio is located on the south side of the building. Once you have parked, please make your way toward the west until you spot the door. See the picture for reference. (Next to the entrance door, you will notice a mailbox with the address 1004. This confirms that you have reached the correct place.) This door leads to the studio.
Entering the Studio: No need to knock or wait for further instructions. Simply walk in. I will be ready to welcome you and assist you with your photo session.

I hope that these directions help you in finding our studio easily. My goal is to provide a stress-free, warm, and comfortable environment for your photography experience. Please arrive 5 minutes before your session time. Doing so will allow us to chat and give you some minutes to lounge and acclimate to the new environment. If you are like me, it takes a minute to be comfortable in a new space.

Length of Session

I am an overshooter and love my job, which causes me to get lost in the moment. No worries, I’m dedicated to providing a great experience. Even though I tend to get caught up in the moment, my full sessions are typically an hour. Pettie sessions run no more than 30 minutes.

What to wear

This topic is fun because I want you to be comfortable. The most important rule is to go for complementary colors and avoid matching colors. This will help balance out the photograph. Typically, I ask expecting mothers to wear a long, flowing dress. They are so beautiful to capture and flattering to all body types. If a dress differs from your style, feel free to wear an article of clothing that speaks to who you are. Wear something that helps you feel comfortable and confident. If you can, I will ask you to sit for some poses, and there will be poses with your back turned, so keep that in mind when picking out your outfits.

Please feel free to find the right shoe and wear anything that fits and is comfortable. I prefer doing studio sessions without shoes. Instead of finding the perfect shoe, pamper yourself with a pedicure. Trust me. I know the struggle of finding cute, comfortable shoes.

Makeup

Makeup can be fun and intimidating. I want you to show up with whatever makes you the most confident. I am a depends-on-the-day makeup girl, so it’s a flip of the coin. I will either have a fully covered face or no makeup at all. If you want to splurge and hire a makeup artist, email me. I have a couple of ladies’ contact information I can provide. Don’t feel pressured to do so.
