Celebrated one year of Vanessa Underwood Photography
This past September, I celebrated the one-year anniversary of our name change. In 2024, I changed my business name. It’s kinda hard for me to say rebrand because it’s still me with a new name that is even more ME! For those of you who have been here from the beginning, thank you for sticking around. For those of you who are new here, welcome! Follow me on this journey.

Why I changed from Underwood Family Photography to Vanessa Underwood Photography. There were many thoughts into the name change. When I first established my business back then, I wasn’t thinking about branding my photography or a niche at all. I was thinking that I am a family-oriented person, and I want everyone to know that I love my family. So I added family to my name, not knowing it would box me in. So I met with friends and a mentor, and I made the jump to change my name to Vanessa Underwood Photography. Doing so was one of the best things for my business. It gives me the opportunity to serve more people in the Amarillo area. Not just families but expecting mothers, newborns, seniors, headshots, and solo portraits. So if you see anything with Underwood Family Photography that is me, and don’t be afraid to send a quick message and say hey, that still has your old name, so that I can go in and change it.
Second Logo of Underwood Family Photography is now Vanessa Underwood Photography. At this time, I knew the direction I wanted my brand to go.
Changing my name gave me the boost and confidence I needed to help grow my business. I joined the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and it’s felt like home. They have been so welcoming, and the networking has helped tremendously. I can’t wait to continue growing and learning.
This is our current logo. I am pretty sure we’ll keep this one for a while; it embodies everything I love.
The four dots represent my little family, and the leaves represent my love for Mother Nature.
What are your thoughts on the name change? Did you know we changed our name, or is this news to you?
